The outdoor oasis set the tone, but the interior design brought this home fully to life. After completing the exterior spaces, our focus shifted to creating a collected interior that felt personal, layered, and deeply reflective of our client’s story. This project challenged us in the best way by asking us to thoughtfully blend existing furniture, meaningful decor, and new design elements into one cohesive vision. The result is a home that feels intentional, lived in, and uniquely theirs.
We believe the most compelling interiors tell a story. Furniture and decor are not just objects. They represent experiences, memories, and phases of life. Rather than starting with a blank slate, we embraced the pieces our clients already loved. We evaluated each item for scale, placement, and emotional value, then designed around those elements with care. By highlighting sentimental pieces and integrating existing furniture, we preserved the character of the home while elevating its overall aesthetic.
To refresh the space, we introduced richer color, layered textures, and refined finishes that added depth without overpowering what was already there. Color played a key role throughout the design. Strategic use of bold yet grounded tones helped unify rooms and create visual flow from one space to the next. Textural contrast, from soft upholstery to tactile accessories, brought warmth and balance while keeping the interiors visually engaging.
One of the most impactful design moments appears in the formal living and dining room, where dramatic drapery takes center stage. These window treatments do far more than frame the view. They add movement, personality, and a sense of grandeur that transforms the entire space. The scale and flow of the drapery bring a softness that contrasts beautifully with the more structured architectural elements of the room. Quite frankly, they make the home sing.
We leaned into a monochrome color palette in this area to create cohesion and visual calm. Rather than relying on contrast alone, we explored variations in tone, material, and finish to add interest. This approach allowed the design to feel intentional and elevated without becoming busy or overwhelming. The oversized oxidized floor mirror became an anchor point for the space and a major source of inspiration. Its patina and scale grounded the room and informed many of the surrounding design decisions.
The relationship between the mirror and the drapery remains one of our favorite details in the entire project. The way the drapery echoes the mirror’s movement and texture creates a quiet rhythm that ties the room together. This repetition brings balance and consistency while reinforcing the collected nature of the design. Every element feels connected, yet nothing feels overly matched.
Throughout the home, we focused on creating spaces that feel cohesive but not rigid. Each room stands on its own while still contributing to the larger story of the house. By thoughtfully editing, layering, and styling, we achieved an interior that feels polished yet approachable. The home reflects where our clients have been and supports how they live now, which is always the ultimate goal.
This project serves as a reminder that great interior design does not erase the past. It builds on it. By honoring personal history and combining it with fresh design strategies, we created a home that feels timeless, expressive, and deeply personal. These are some of our favorite images from the project, and the full gallery can be viewed in our portfolio for a closer look at the details that brought this interior together.
