The Sky Lodge Project is a prime example of how buying a new home marks an exciting milestone. One filled with dreams of the future, a sense of accomplishment, and endless possibilities. The process brings anticipation, big decisions, and plenty of unexpected twists. For our client, move-in day brought all the joy and excitement that comes with a beautiful new build. It also came with the realization that their home still felt like a blank canvas. Without furniture or finishing touches, it lacked the personality and comfort that make a space feel truly personal.
That’s where we stepped in. The Sky Lodge Project gave us the perfect chance to start fresh and create a home that felt crisp, welcoming, and tailored to the client’s lifestyle. Our goal was simple: design a refined space that didn’t sacrifice warmth, striking the right balance between elegance, function, and everyday comfort.
We built our design plan around a crisp, contemporary vibe that embraced simplicity. Layered and thoughtful details to make the home feel lived-in and welcoming. We chose a color palette of cool blues and greens to infuse the space with calming yet vibrant energy. These hues contrasted beautifully with the clean white walls and bold black accents that highlighted the home’s architectural features. By intentionally playing with color and tone, we created a harmonious backdrop that feels both refreshing and timeless.
We made every choice with intention. From selecting furniture that combined style and comfort to sourcing textiles and decor that added warmth and texture. Soft rugs, plush seating, and layered fabrics shaped cozy, inviting spaces perfect for their beloved cat, Jaguar. Sleek lighting fixtures and curated artwork brought personality into the home. In each room, we told a story, weaving in elements that reflected the client’s tastes and hobbies.
Pro tip- velvet like fabrics are great for families with cats. For some reason cats tend not to scratch velvet fabrics as they can’t get their claws in the weave.
We worked closely with the client throughout the process to ensure the home supported their daily routines with ease. In the primary bedroom, we aimed to create a cozy sanctuary by applying a lime wash finish to the walls. We also darken the ceiling, and layered in gorgeous double draperies. A standout features in the space is the backlit wood paneling that brings texture, warmth, and visual intrigue. The soft glow behind the paneling highlights the natural beauty of the wood and adds depth and dimension to the room. This feature acts is a striking focal point and a subtle backdrop. The balance perfectly complements the organic lime wash and the understated elegance.
We designed the guest bedrooms with entertainers in mind, striking a balance between individuality and versatility. Each space adapts easily as the couple moves through different life stages, offering both function and personality. To achieve this, we created three distinct looks, each with its own mood and character. In two of the guest rooms, we took a bold approach with moody color drenching, wrapping the walls in rich, deep hues that foster a cozy, intimate vibe. These rooms invite guests to unwind and offer a striking contrast to the rest of the home. For the third guest bedroom, we chose a light and bright palette to evoke openness and airiness. We also incorporated custom aviation artwork featuring planes and helicopters—a nod to our client’s passion.
The Sky Lodge Project highlights how thoughtful design can completely transform a space. What began as a blank canvas now stands as a curated home that blends warmth and elegance while reflecting the client’s unique personality. With intentional design, even the emptiest space can become a meaningful haven where memories are made and life is celebrated.
